Welcome to the Melungeon Peoples Project! Melungeon Peoples Project was founded after recognizing how displacement and disconnection continues to affect Melungeon communities and cultural identity. Our goal is to preserve and share things we know and have learned like language, traditions, and everyday life ways. This isn’t a professional website, nor is it organized, but it is honest and authentic. This place is more like a scrapbook of the people, places, and culture that we come from.
